EVs (Effort Values) and IVs (Individual Values) are the primary stats for determining your Pokémon's strength. The two values are linked to the six main statistics - HP, offense, special attack, speed, defense and special defense. IVs (normally) can only be increased much later in the game, while EVs will naturally grow when you take on Pokémon.
How electric vehicles work: Depending on the Pokémon you defeated, Electric Vehicles will increase - Some Pokémon you defeat will increase your HP, while others will increase Special Attack, etc. powerful than a wild Pokémon!
How IVs Work: IVs are the secret statistics that determine the "genes" of a Pokémon. IVs are associated with the six main stats - high IVs will make a Pokémon inherently better. IVs determine basic stats, and these are only really important for breeding and optimizing your Pokémon - a Pokémon with a high IV will pass its genes on to other Pokémon.
This is a brief explanation of EVs and IVs, but the question is: how can I check these stats? It is not so easy. There is still a lot to be done in the area of electric vehicles and utility vehicles, but let's take action.
How to check EVs and IVs
Check EVs and IVs is a semi-secret feature designed for high-level Pokémon players. Here is how it works.
- How to check electric vehicles: Open your Pokémon Summary page and select the Statistics tab. Hurry (X) to check electric vehicles
A graph will appear after checking your EVs. If the graph is yellow / orange, it has not been maximized. If the graph is blue, it has been maximized. If any of the stats shine, you will have maxed out that statistic.
- How to check IVs: After completing the main story, go to the Battle Tower, then defeat Leon. He will reward you with the IV Checker.
- Go to the Pokémon Summary page and select the Statistics tab. Hurry (+) to check the IVs.
IVs are the hidden stats that determine a Pokémon's strengths (and weaknesses). Some Pokémon you find may have max stats - and Pokémon caught in Max Raid's lairs are guaranteed to have at least two max IVs.
