Telegram is one of the most used private messaging programs in the world. In truth, this record has become much stronger and more real in recent times, especially with the latest changes that Whatsapp has tried to insert into its system. Many users have opted for a mass escape, thus reaching the latter service, which still offers a wide range of aspects and functions that many have come to love abundantly.
However, everything has its little quirks. In the case of Telegram, we talk about the sharing and synchronization of contacts. This is done for many reasons: the main one is obviously to give us the possibility to add all the people we already know and who use Telegram in a completely automatic way. In short, we will be able to find these people already in the contact list without any need to search for them manually. Furthermore, this function is also used for warn all our friends that from that moment on we have Telegram.
Obviously, this also means that the servers of this service have to take that little bit more information about us, something that can be annoying if we are particularly attentive to the protection of our identity. Fortunately, it is possible to disable this function, so as to avoid being automatically inserted in the future or having people included in the list of friends without our consent.
How to disable Telegram contact synchronization

Open Telegram. Proceed to open the menu at the top left and therefore go through the settings. Among the many options, the choice relating to Privacy and Security. Scrolling down, you will find the option that concerns the synchronization of contacts. Disable this option, as well as the suggestions, and proceed to delete also the information that has remained synchronized with the Telegram servers.
Don't be afraid to see your contacts disappear within the App, on the other hand! Once you have created your list in Telegram, it will remain like this forever until you modify it by archiving everything manually.
- How can it do on iOS (iPhone / iPad)
As for the iPhone, the speech is quite different. In fact, Telegram manages this aspect with some different choices. First, open the App, and open the settings. Look for the section on Privacy and Security and look for an option that pertains to options related to data or information stored in the system. Inside there will always be a section relating to contacts, with the option to synchronize the various contacts as already described above. Deactivate the option and then delete the data stored with the Telegram server.
As already mentioned, this option will not delete the entire list on the Smartphone, it will always remain the same as it is stored between the various devices.
Is it possible to do this via Telegram Desktop or Web?
Currently not, the operation is only possible through the Mobile App. This is because it is necessary to communicate on our part the choice to have any data present in Telegram deleted. Even if the account with which we are communicating is the one that is also synchronized with the mobile phone, this choice must always be made through the App - or so Telegram has decided for the moment.
I have sent a request to delete my Telegram Server information, but I am getting an error message. What to do?
In this case, check if you are currently connected to the network! The command must be sent on the spot, it is not something that is passively memorized. If you are sure you are connected but the deletion does not take place, try using another connection (Wifi / data connection and vice versa). If not again, check if Telegram is currently running (text someone). Otherwise, close and reopen the program, or try again later.
