While it still makes you wait for the Clubhouse for Android and the platform is still open only to those who do get an invitation, the competition is not at all to watch. Indeed, it raises: Telegram just scored a big hit by launching new voice chat features that make the messaging app a great alternative to Clubhouse.
Voice chats are a rather recent novelty on Telegram, since they arrived in December 2020, but in a very short time this function was developed in an excellent way and today it is definitely complete thanks to its extension also to groups and channels, where there will be no limit to the participants. This is a very important novelty for Telegram, because being able to broadcast live to everyone (and also record, as we will see shortly) a voice chat potentially transforms the app into a content distribution platform: podcasts, radio shows, in-depth programs they can be created and disseminated with a simplicity previously unthinkable.
Telegram voice chats for groups and channels
The main novelty is the one just described: the possibility of launching one voice chat not only from your personal account, but also within a channels. The channel administrator will be able to do this and will be able to invite other Telegram users who will be able to participate both "privately" and with their own channel.
To start a voice chat just open the group or channel of which we are administrators, tap on the main menu and select "Start voice chat". Then, just like for personal voice chats, we can choose who to invite to speak and send a link to the speakers or listeners.
Recorded voice chats
The second big news is that it is now possible record a Telegram voice chat. Administrators can do this both at the beginning of the voice chat and at any other time by tapping the appropriate button in the main menu.
From the same menu you can decide when to stop recording. Audio files become immediately available within the Saved Messages area. For transparencyfinally, if a chat is registered, a red dot is displayed next to the title.

Finally, then, the possibility of raise your hand to ask to speak within a voice chat. This feature is, of course, only available in chats where participants are muted.
