Why does iPhone cost so much?

In the last few years, the Chinese smartphone market has literally exploded. The reason? The extraordinary rapporto qualità / prezzo that the smartphones in question have. So many users decide to buy a Chinese smartphone because this obviously benefits their wallet. So that's why less "expensive" users decide to opt for the purchase of a iPhone.

In this article, however, we will not talk about Chinese smartphones, but about the iPhone and more precisely about yours cost. We are going to analyze the reasons why an iPhone costs almost three times a common Android smartphone.

Furthermore, I state that this article absolutely does not privilege either side.

Why is the price of the iPhone so high?

Devaluation

Let's start with the first reason: the devaluation. An iPhone will never devalue over time like an Android smartphone. While, for example, the price of a top of the range from LG or Samsung loses hundreds of euros in a few months, that of an iPhone remains unchanged or drops very little. Furthermore, we must also analyze the market: if a product is bought a lot, the price is not destined to go down. In fact, Apple certainly does not offer a wide choice of products on which to indulge ourselves.

The advantage of this aspect is that if you own an iPhone, its value won't drop that much.

The two operating systems Android and iOS are very different from each other. The reasons why a user prefers one over the other are various and some are personal. Of course, the ideal would be to own both, but this is beyond the reach of the majority of users.

Materials

A high price is also given (in part) by materials used to make it happen. iPhone is made entirely of aluminum, at the expense of the plastic used by other smartphones. Although many Android are made with a glass shell, it is also a material that is certainly more valuable than plastic.

Sale and purchase of a new smartphone

Selling an Android phone will not earn much and to buy a top of the range you will have to spend a little money (minimum € 250-500 depending on the smartphone). Instead, by selling an iPhone, you will have the option to choose from a wide range of purchase options. You can buy an Android smartphone without adding the difference, if not two smartphones.

Brand

We can certainly say that the brand Apple strongly affects the price. Of course, as time goes by, used Android will always be lower in price than an iPhone. The evidence cannot be denied. On this Apple plays at home and can afford to keep prices high over time. On the other hand, Android has a wide choice of devices and you are free to change your smartphone often.

Conclusions

In this article we did not want to privilege either side. We only wanted to analyze the reasons why Apple smartphones have such a price. The choice of purchase strictly depends on the user and the reasons for preferring either one or the other have not been expressed in this article.
