Developed by Mojang Studios, Minecraft has been out for about a decade and comes in two different versions: Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. The content, updates, and appearance of the two games are virtually identical, but the reality is that they are two different games. In technical terms, Java is encoded in Java, while Bedrock is encoded in C ++. This means that the two games have a completely different user interface and rendering systems.
The original version of Minecraft, available for purchase from the Minecraft website, is called the Java Edition. If you and your friends only play Mindcraft on PC, like to modify the game easily, and are often keen to try out new features, then go for the Java edition. If you and your friends are planning to play on one of the consoles or on a mobile, you are more of a casual gamer where cross-play is very important to you and modding is not a major priority, then go for it.
