If your iPhone 6, 6s falls into the water you can still save it. Whether it's a swimming pool, a bathtub or any other place where there is water, there are precautions to avoid water damage. The iPhone 6 is not waterproof and although the iPhone 6s are able to resist water in the best way, they are not waterproof anyway, unless they are covered with a protection that makes them waterproof. No iPhone is waterproof yet, but we often find ourselves using the iPhone in contact with water; there is a chance that it will get wet or be exposed to moisture. Remember that even the slightest exposure to water can permanently break your iPhone.
First steps to take to save your iPhone 6
Activate immediately as soon as you realize that your iPhone 6 has come into contact with water. After you take it out, you will have to worry about getting the water out of the phone as soon as possible. The same is true for other liquids such as alcohol, soda, but remember that sugars or chemicals can cause more damage to your iPhone 6 than water. There is only one thing you can do after taking your iPhone 6 out of the water and that is the only thing that gives you hope that your phone can be saved:
- turn it off. It is possible that it will continue to work even after you have fallen into the water, but you must immediately turn it off to prevent the liquid from coming into contact with the electrical part.
- if the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S is in a case pull it out. Remove all cables, headphones and even the side SIM card slot so that the water flows out of the iPhone.
To get as much water out as possible, try shaking your iPhone and blowing into the openings. You can also try using compressed air or a hair dryer or vacuum cleaner.
Don't put iPhone 6s in rice, it doesn't help much. One of the most important things to remember is not to charge the iPhone or turn it on for at least 24 hours.
If you want to put your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S in something to remove moisture you can try silica gel or one of the special packages that companies sell to absorb water from the iPhone. Some hardware stores sell a product called DampRid, which you can put in a sealed bag with your iPhone for 24 hours to absorb moisture.
If your iPhone turns on after these precautions, it may in some cases revert to its original factory settings. You will then have to reset everything via a backup on iTunes or a backup that, we hope, you will have done previously on your PC, perhaps with a useful program for this purpose such as TUNES GO
