To get a good level of privacy, you can decide to hide online status on Telegram. This way, no one will be able to find out when you are online or when you last logged in.

How to hide Telegram online status (smartphone)
To hide and make your online presence secret, all you have to do is open the app, tap on the three dashes at the top left and then choose "Settings".
Once the app settings are open, select the item "Privacy and security", then tap on "Last access".
A new window will open where you can choose which option to adopt to hide the online status on Telegram.
By selecting the item "All“, Any contact will be able to see your last login even if they don't know you and don't have you in their account.
By choosing the item "My contacts”Only the contacts you have in your address book and who use Telegram will be able to see your last access.
With "Nobody“, All users will be denied the ability to see your online status; they will only see a generic warning: "recently", "within a week", "within a month".
To this contact filter system, you can add exceptions with lists below:
- Using “Share with” you can show your last access to friends or acquaintances selected among your contacts in the address book.
- Using “Don't share with” will hide your last login from specific people in your address book.
These exceptions will be active regardless of the setting used for the other contacts: if you decide to block everyone from viewing the last access you can still create white list (“positive” exceptions) and the specified contacts will see your online status. Vice versa if you create Blacklists (“negative” exceptions) you will be able to hide your status from inthevidual contacts.
Hide online status Telegram (computer)
From the computer, the procedure is practically the same: if you have installed Telegram on a PC or Mac via the official client, you can hide your online status by clicking on the three lines at the top left (so as to open the sidebar of the program) and doing click on "Settings":
In the menu that you will see appear scroll until you find the item "Last Access" and then click to open the last access configuration window.
To hide your status from all contacts, simply select the "None" item:
In this way, no Telegram subscriber will be able to see your last login and only the approximate inthecation will be shown.
If you want at least your contacts to see your online status, just select "My contacts".
If you want to block or view the status only for one or more selected contacts, all you have to do is use the items "Share with" (to choose who to always show the status to) or "Do not share with" (to always block the thesplay of the status ). These settings bypass the master setting, which will still apply to all others.
