At the end of December 2023, displacing all competitors, Telegram introduced the possibility of voice chat. Shortly after, in March 2021, it extended this possibility also to channels and, now, with the beta v7.7.0, it also introduced an option for schedule a voice chat within a channel, choosing date and time.
Thanks to this new function, channel administrators will be able to schedule a voice chat and not only, as is the case at the moment, launch it immediately. This is not a small novelty, because it allows those who manage very crowded channels to make an appointment with their users and, at the same time, to give them time to organize themselves and be present. The new scheduling function, needless to say, makes Telegram's voice chats an increasingly credible alternative to Clubhouse (which in the meantime has yet to launch the Android app). Among the many would-be Clubhouse rivals, therefore, Telegram seems to be the one in the most advanced position today. They follow Twitter and, only after, Facebook.
How to program Telegram voice chats
To schedule a voice chat on a Telegram channel an administrator must tap on the channel icon, then on the settings menu (the one with the three dots), then must select the option "Start voice chat" and, finally, tap the new option "Schedule voice chat".
You can then choose a time and date and tap the button below to schedule the voice chat. Immediately after it can share the invitation to participate in the chat within his channel.
Telegram, the other changes to voice chats
In addition to this novelty, always with the beta v7.7.0 of Telegram have also arrived other minor improvements to voice chats. For example, you can now change both the name and description of the voice chat when it is already in progress.
In addition, to make learning the app easier for newbies, the app now has a link to the Telegram features in the menu that redirects the user directly to the official channel of the Telegram tips.
When these news from Telegram arrive
Usually Telegram is very fast in implementing the functionality it experiences in its beta apps. If there are no problems or bugs with the programming of voice chats, therefore, it is plausible that this new function may already arrive with the next official stable version of the Telegram app.
