I have spent the last few days diligently trying a iPhone 11 refurbished, which I put in close comparison with the new one iPhone 12 to understand if the game was actually worth the candle. On the one hand we have a smartphone from last year that has been regenerated and has a very (very) competitive price, on the other hand the new model from Apple. What will have come of it? I list what I found:
- For the I'm definitely in favor of the iPhone 12. It's not only bigger, but it has been improved especially in the color balance, which you can see in more detail in our full iPhone 12 review.
- However I must admit that autonomy is better on iPhone 11, and this is extremely important. Think that a refurbished smartphone from a year ago has a better autonomy than an iPhone that I bought (new) less than two weeks ago. How it will come next year. From this point of view, even if slightly, iPhone 11 has the best no ifs and buts.
- As it regards instead the camera, the main sensor is 12MP for both and the difference in quality is really minimal. However, it must also be said that on the iPhone 12 HDR is very successful and in general the color management has improved. Not an abyss of difference, but certainly worth noting. To make you understand, in these days I shared some shots on my Instagram profile and many have not grasped the difference between iPhone 11 and iPhone 12.
- Less important, but still worth mentioning, is the support for 5G networks, which obviously is not present on the iPhone 11. In my opinion this is not an indispensable feature - especially now in 2020 - but certainly for some it could be interesting.
- On iPhone 11 there is no support for new accessories MagSafe, which use a series of magnets within the new generation of iPhone. However, wireless charging is still present, which allows you to recharge iPhone 11 with any wireless charger on the market.
- The price it is obviously in favor of the iPhone 11. While iPhone 12 is currently sold at a list price of 939 Euros, against the approximately 719 Euros of the iPhone 11 (in the list, therefore purchased new).
