Seriously, as you have seen the costs for repairing the screens are really high and only if you have insurance AppleCare + you could save yourself.
This insurance, in fact, includes two interventions for accidental damage. You can also use them for screen repairs, but you still have a fee to pay.
This cost (same for all phones with AppleCare +) is 29 € for the replacement of the screen only, and of 99€ to other damages made on your smartphone.
Again the prices are valid in the city and include VAT. In case the iPhone has to be shipped, yes will add € 12,20 for shipping.
