With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on the horizon, people have started to wonder about the release date of the next episode of Activision's hit first-person shooter series.
A recent mine of data from Warzone's latest update partially let the cat out of the bag, and it looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release in November. This shouldn't be a huge surprise, as just about every Call of Duty game was released that month. There is no exact date at this time, but we expect Activision to announce it soon. The opportunity to do so would be during the game's reveal event, which is scheduled to take place on August 26 at 10:30 a.m. PT.
According to the data mine, Woods, Mason and Hudson will all return to face a dark menace once again, with a new cast of characters. You'll make your way through East Berlin, Vietnam, and Turkey trying to figure out what a mysterious figure named Perseus is doing.
We can expect the usual action that makes Call of Duty campaigns so interesting, along with period-specific weapons and gear.
It is not yet clear exactly how this new version will work, as Activision appears to be moving towards the idea of a central hub for Call of Duty content. The most likely outcome will be that Warzone will tie into both Cold War and Modern Warfare, and each game will have separate installs. Modern Warfare is already causing problems for gamers due to the insane installation size reaching over 200GB, so adding even more isn't really an option.
We'll update this article as soon as the exact Call of Duty: Blacks Ops Cold War release date is revealed.
