Space harrier it's a arcade video game of the shooter genre scroll published in 1985 by SEGA and later converted for the most popular home computers and consoles of the era, including the Sega Master System.
Produced by Yu Suzuki, responsible for many popular
SEGA games, Space Harrier was followed by Space Harrier 3-D (1988) and Space Harrier II (1988). As many Sega Dreamcast lovers will know, Space Harrier can also be played as an extra within Shenmue, Shenmue II and Yu Suzuki Game Works Vol. 1. game is an example of a shooter “on the tracks”, an experiment that SEGA had already carried out in 1982 with Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom.
However, Space Harrier is considered by many to be the very first game of this genre, the title that has effectively created a niche. The protagonist of the game is “The Harrier“, a blond-haired man with a jetpack which must cope well 18 levelsfull of enemies and stray bullets.
