Google has finally decided to implement one of the most requested and desired features in its Google Home devices: calls. Who has an Amazon Echo, knows very well that calling and video calling a second Echo with only the voice command, is very immediate and convenient, especially for those who are not very familiar with technological devices. The Mountain View company therefore decided to implement the same functionality, integrating it with the application "Duo", available for free on the Play Store and App Store (for iOS). Today we will therefore see how to activate it on a smart speaker connected to our account.
Activate Duo on Google Home
Calls with Google Duo can be configured on any smart speaker from the Mountain View company and also work correctly for connections between smartphones and Bluetooth speakers. The only things to do before starting to interact with the aforementioned function will be: check for software updates for the affected device, verify that the application "Home" on your smartphone is the latest version available and complete the following steps correctly.
- Open the application "Home" su smartphone or tablet
- From the main screen, select the Google Home icon to configure
- Continue with the settings icon at the top right
- Scroll through the options and click "Calls with Duo"
- Complete the procedure that appears
Once everything is configured, it will be possible to make calls and video calls (if you have a Home Hub) simply with a voice command. In case you want to disable the option, just follow the same procedure and finally click on "Disconnect Duo from this device".
