How to put the Google icon on the desktop
Let's go right into the article by looking at it in detail how to put the google icon on the desktop. Below I will explain how to do this through an ad hoc function on Windows and also through the use of the main browsers for online browsing.
Windows
put Google on the Windows desktop, you can take advantage of a function integrated in the famous Microsoft operating system, through which you can create a link to a specific website (like that of Google, in fact).
To use this function, click the right key of your mouse in an "empty" point of your desktop (ie without icons) and, from the context menu, select the items New> Link. In the text field Enter the path for the link that appears on your desk, type https://www.google.com) and click on your button NEXT.
In the field Enter the name of the linkinstead, type the name you want to assign to your custom link (eg. Google); to conclude, click on the button end and that's it: the Google icon will appear on your desktop, through which you will be able to quickly access the search engine (by double clicking on it). Convenient, right?
If you want to change the link icon because you don't like the default one, find out how to do this through the tutorial I wrote on this topic.
Chrome (Windows/macOS/Linux)
As I told you, it is possible to add the Google icon on the desktop also acting from any web browser, such as Chrome.
To proceed, after opening Chrome and visiting the Google site, click on the button (⋮) collocato in alto a destra, selects the voice Other tools in the opened menu and click on the wording Create shortcut .... After assigning a name to the icon you are about to add to the desktop (ex. Google), click on the button Crea.
On Windows, you don't need to do anything else; if you are using MacOSInstead, you need to take another step: drag the Google icon to the desktop. To do this, place the mouse cursor on thegoogle icon present in the opened window, press and hold the left button mouse over it, drag it to the desktop and release the left button. Semplice, see?
Edge (Windows / macOS / Linux)
You would like to add a web page link to your desktop by acting from Edge, the browser from Microsoft, integrated "as standard" in Windows 10 (and also available for macOS, Linux and mobile devices)? No problem: you can do it by taking advantage of an ad hoc function of the latter.
To proceed, visit the Google site from Edge, click on the button (...) located at the top right, select the items App> Install the site as an app from the opened menu and, after defining the name to be given to the site installed as an application (which you can do via the appropriate text field), click on the button Install.
If you are acting from Windows 10, then open the menu Start, place the cursor on thegoogle icon and drag it to the desktop by holding down the left button mouse over it. Therefore, release the left button mouse button and that's it.
Su MacOS, on the other hand, the steps to take are a little more complex. After installing the Google site as an application through the procedure I indicated, open the Launchpad, drag the Google icon to the bar Dock holding down the left button mouse over it and release it to complete this step. In conclusion, do click this on the icon you added to the Dock bar, select the items Options> Show in Finder from the context menu and drag the icon of Google on the macOS Desktop.

Next, download the Google icon in the form of an image and, after opening it and copying it entirely (to do this you must first press the keys cmd + a e cmd + c), right-click on the icon of the shortcut you added on the desktop and select the entry Get information.
