Unless you play through Mode Free Ride. In Free Ride you can run wild and fully explore the city. There doesn't seem like much to do, but there are a few activities you can do in the game. You can pick up weapons from Vinnie to wreak havoc, or you can complete special postcard quests and unlock unique super cars you won't find anywhere else.
There are five special postcard cars. If you're not sure where to find them, check out the full guide below. I will also list other activities you can do while you are at Freeroam.
Lock-Up de Vinny
Make your way to Salieri Bar and you can visit Vinny's Armory to collect the weapons you need. More weapons will unlock as you progress through the main campaign.
Super Car Postcard Locations
For more cars to unlock, go Bertoni Autoshop. On the wall you will find postcards stuck to the wall. These images give you clues to the location of the car. Go to the place shown in the photo to steal the car and unlock it permanently.
There are 5 postcards in total. Check the cards in your collectibles menu - take a closer look and check the back. Each card has a text clue. Once you collect a map from the wall, the super car will appear. You can just look at all five locations in the screenshots below.
- Disorder: Countryside, in a building east of Flyer Dam.
- Lassiter V16 Appoleon: Beech Hill, manoir central.
- Flame lance: Central Island, southeast construction site.
- Trautenberg Sport: City center, the seafront.
- Manta Prototype: Work area, central station.
Hidden Time Trials
There is another activity in Free Roam - you will find mysterious notes in Bar Salieri.
The first note says - Find the westernmost point of Little Italy and listen to the bell. The bell is a spinning telephone. Answer it and you will unlock a special mission called "The Mad Horse" - by driving the car to the garage indicated on your map, you will unlock a unique car for your garage. The car must be in perfect condition, so that you cannot run over (or even scratch) the vehicle.
The first car is the "Crazy Horse" and it's absurdly fast for a car. There are many others like that. For each mission you complete, a new note will appear at the Salieri bar, asking you to go to a place where a bell rings.
