Crusader Kings III patch 1.1 patch notes
Crusader Kings III update 1.1 is extended, not only by fixing bugs (such as the court medic counting as a relationship in the relationship tab), but making drastic changes and changes to the way the game is taking place. The Mongol invasion will be more of a threat, attacking armies will not rush to your capital at the start of a war, and much more. No segment of the game has been left untouched, and even the modding side of the house has received a little love. Crusader Kings III update 1.1 drops on September 29, although no specific time has been given.
There are far too many changes listed in the Crusader Kings III 1.1 Patch Notes for me to summarize, so here's the full list below:
- Game balance
- A woman approaching the fertility threshold (3 years) now inflicts the “low fertility” marriage penalty.
- The inability to inherit titles no longer blocks the inheritance of claims. The Castrated, Bastards and Deprived traits always block the legacy of claims. Only from within your dynasty for the Deprived
- Building a new temple now gives a lot more piety, you can't do it too often anyway
- Cities and temples now follow the same cost scale as castles
- Clan leaders now want fewer spouses, the lower their rank. The punishment of piety is triggered only if they are below the desired spouses. The numbers are: Baron / Earl wants one, Dukes two, Kings three, and Emperors four.
- The stroke of piety to be below the desired spouses has been doubled.
- Confederate Partition now ignores lands held by vassals with title allegiance when there are titles with their own distinct succession (e.g. elective titles, titles with their own gender laws). This means that it is no longer necessary to create a kingdom where all the vassals will go with another title.
- Courtiers you have a child with are now slightly more likely to stay
- The creation of a title will now result in the loss of allegiance of vassals under that title if their allegiance is at a title of the same level. For example, the creation of the Italian empire like the EDH will result in the loss of allegiance of Italian vassals to the EDH
- Declining the Call to Arms now costs Fame, potentially reducing your Fame level. Refusing offensive wars has a low impact, but refusing defensive calls has a huge impact.
- Denying a Defensive War now reduces Opinion with your ally by -50 for 25 years (Decay)
- Denying an offensive war now reduces opinion with your ally by -20 for 5 years (decomposition)
- Halve Diplomacy opinion modifier
- Diplomacy skill now grants several% prestige (with compensation)
- Voters should now be less inclined to form or join pro-independence factions, unless they are of a religion other than their liege
- Correction of the chances of pregnancy remaining unchanged during periods of significant fertility before drastically dropping. Now, the reduction in the chances of pregnancy is rather gradual. For example, before the couple's fertility drops from 53% to 52%, the risk of pregnancy drops from 3% to 2% per month, while now it will drop from 2,52% to 2,47%
- For player cultures, the culture manager now updates within a month when one rule becomes larger than another
- For player dynasties, the dynast now takes at most a month to update when someone else becomes more than 10% stronger, rather than up to a year.
- Giving an outfit of the wrong type as an ambitious or greedy character will no longer cause stress
- Foodie Gift Receivers no longer ask for insane amounts of extra gold
- AI is now much more likely to demand the conversion of heretical vassals, if their refusal leads them to be viewed as criminals. This should make the AI less likely to crumble into heresy.
- The heresiarchs will no longer accept requests for conversion.
- The refusal of a conversion request now gives cork a ground for revocation, in addition to the ground for imprisonment it has already obtained.
- Outbreaks of Heresy now increase affected Fervor of Faith in a much more positive way. This means that larger denominations are more likely to rebound to Maximum Fervor after an outbreak of heresy.
- If a vassal asks for something in return for you asking him to convert the faith, refusing his request no longer gives you imprisonment / revoking a reason against him (you are ungodly by not parting with mere material wealth!)
- If you have Partition and your primary title has a special election form, the heir to that title will be the primary heir to your Partition and will receive a share as long as they are a valid player heir, even if they are would not have it otherwise. is part of the score, or later in the order of the scores
- Increased cooldown for asking vassal to convert faith to 15
- Succession of inheritance can now go up to 6 generations to find a distant relative rather than just 3
- Now it's harder to assassinate someone you're at war with or assassinate their vassals / courtiers
- The maximum success / secrecy chance for kidnapping programs is now 85% (up from 95%).
- It is now virtually impossible to kidnap someone you are at war with, with less punishment for their vassals / courtiers
- It is now much more difficult to plan the kidnapping of rulers (especially foreign rulers) and subjects of a foreign court.
- Knights will more often gain Feats and Blademaster Traits in battle
- Great kingdoms are now unlikely to convert religion in wars
- Reduced attack stat of pikemen
- Reduced costs of recruiting MaA
- Made a number of interactions unavailable if you are at war with the target (e.g. it makes no sense to ask the Pope for money while you are at war with them)
- Diplomacy affected opinion of gifts much more (x3)
- Military Prestige / Piety maintenance costs no longer reduce your Fame / Devotion gain
- The opinion of several elective titles no longer accumulates for each title with the law, it occurs once per vassal according to the law of allegiance of their title.
- Exceeding the enemy in numbers now increases the survivability of your knights
- The Pechenegs are now a bit more stable at the start of the match
- Debt rebalanced so that it now arrives in levels. The higher the level, the more severe the penalties. Sanctions include tax cuts, to ease the collapse of severely indebted kingdoms.
- Recluse characters will no longer host parties
- Removed stress loss for lustful characters when they give up celibacy, as this could result in free stress loss
- The "resurging saoshyant" modifier has nerfed considerably
- Slightly reduced the cost of the main participations
- Significantly strengthened the armies of the Mongol Empire. Now you will really learn to fear the Steppe Horsemen!
- Temujin & co is now starting with substantial achievement scores.
- Temujin now starts off with a full roster of knights, as well as a few Han siege engineers.
- The Mongol Empire is now much more aggressive and will attack several times a year, if the opportunity arises.
- Weak kingdoms are now much more likely to accept submission by the Mongol Empire.
- The Borjigin Dynasty is no longer obscure and begins with a few Warfare Legacies unlocked.
- The cooldown of Asking to Take Vows has been increased to 10 years.
- Asking to take the vows now costs godliness, rather than giving yourself godliness.
- Asking to take the vows improves the opinion of your court chaplain and your faith leader when used.
- The "Take the Wishes" interaction can now be used on characters 10 years of age or older (previously only adults).
- The "Take the Vows" interaction can now be used on married or engaged characters.
- The "Take the Wishes" interaction can now be used on characters who inherit titles, which means that it is possible to prune the inheritance of your score by disinheriting children using this tool.
- The AI acceptance values of Ask to Take the Vows have been massively overhauled to take into account many elements. In particular, having a learning education makes children much more likely to want to attend church.
- Using Asking to Take Vows on Someone now moves them away from your yard, in a realm theocrat's yard (if there is one), or in the swimming pool.
- You cannot force married / engaged characters in the incorrect linearity to take the vows (i.e. women in a patrilineal marriage).
- You now need a Strong Hook to force acceptance of Ask to Take the Vows. The weak brackets give a bit of acceptance instead.
- AI is now more inclined to buy certain MaAs based on their culture
- AI is now more inclined to recruit its cultural MaA
- AI is now much more likely to ask their Faith Leader for money, especially if their HoF is very rich
- AI is now reluctant to engage boys with older women, whether or not they share their dynasty.
- AI now wants to spend money only on recruiting guest seekers who have claims on the Borderlands
- AI (mainly War Defenders) will now consider White Peace more often, to avoid prolonging wars unnecessarily. They will look at how long the war lasted and compare that to their current war score. This should reduce the number of extremely long wars.
- The AI will now take bankruptcy into account when reviewing White Peace. From -100 gold, the AI will gradually pursue the white peace more as it gets into more and more debt (-2 years of income and -4 years of income), compensating for this by their proximity to winning (at age 80 or over). War Score, the AI will try to “toughen up” as the gains from war are more likely to outweigh the expenses of maintaining their army).
- The AI will now only require conversion of vassals if they have the money to pay their demands, if the vassal is unlikely to simply agree.
- The AI will now take age and fertility into account when marrying any character in a reputable household, not just their own. This should reduce the likelihood of interesting characters ending up in unsuccessful marriages.
- Rule of the game Exclave Independence now triggers closer to succession for AI leaders
- Inbreeding trait now much less likely to be inherited, but still reduces fertility
- Fame gain for living dynasty members is now capped at 2 / month (100 living members)
- The Strong Blood Dynasty modifier now only improves the chance of characters without inherited genetic traits to be positive by 400%, down from 40%. + 000% means that the chance of getting Comely for example is 400% instead of 2,5%
- Jerusalem keeper unlikely to accept populist demands now
- The opinion of not being allied as a clan vassal has been increased to 15 for non-powerful vassals and 30 for powerful vassals.
- Titles automatically destroyed due to a ruler's ineligibility now give rulers claims if they have received claims on counties they lost
- Turks are now more likely to assimilate into local cultures than they were
- Under Partition, higher-level titles no longer reduce the number of counties you get. In practice, this means that in some (but not all) cases where your primary heir would get only one or two counties, he would get one more.
- Very unzealous characters will now revoke the titles of vassals of other religions if this is best for the kingdom, assuming there is no loss of tyranny.

- Wounded Knights are now less likely to die in battle
- You can now manage the concentration of your children even if they are disembarked, as long as you are their liege
- You can now revoke the last county of someone who holds one or more duchies that cannot be revoked (for example, a head of faith title). This will lead to the destruction of that higher title
- You must be at peace to create a new faith.
- Your liege now receives the “predecessor's opinion” towards your heir when you die, if he ends up being your heir's cork and your heir did not have a liege or other liege

- Added more restrictions on checking whether characters are ready to cheat on their partners
- The Alan culture now begins with the compound arcs studied in 867 as well as 1066.

- AI should now be more inclined to build castle storage upgrades

- The maximum penalty for exceeding your domain limit is now -100% taxes / levies, increased by -90%.

- IA
- Discouraged AI from doing naval invasions when land invasions are possible

- AI is more likely to accept a faction request when it is deeply in debt
- AI is no longer eager to join a faction of requesters if the requester is near death, but rather less likely

- Tells the AI that considering the threat of enemies when you're at sea makes sense even if they can't get to you while you're at sea
- Tells the AI that double counting the player's enemies if they are locked in motion and trying to decide whether the player needs help or not could lead to some silly decisions

- Tells AI that it really doesn't make sense to try to withdraw from a dangerous enemy at sea

- Tells AI that it's okay to track down enemy armies that aren't in the attacker's territory or the defender's territory

- Tells AI that when deciding where to raid, it might be a good idea to measure distance at sea, not as the crow flies
- Tells the AI that when it has decided to retreat or fight, there is no point in doing other things like chasing nearby enemy units or trying to merge with a friendly stack
- Tells the AI that by supporting the player while the player is at sea, it makes sense for them to go to the same province, rather than stay on land
- Tells the AI not to bother pushing vassal vassal claims. His own, his direct vassals and his courtiers should be numerous
