If a week ago we received the news that K-Tuin bought the Apple Golden Mac APR, now we have been able to confirm that, on the same dates, it also acquired the company that manages the largest Apple distributor chain in Spain. APR for Catalonia, Microgestió.
With this purchase, the retail giant in Spain increases its footprint even further and leaves purchasing options in other chains significantly reduced.
Barring mistakes on our part, apart from obviously KTuin, Banana Computer, Intecat, Benotac, As Computer and Rossellimac (you can listen to the podcast on education we recently recorded). Some, such as Banana, Intecat and As Computer, are highly regionalized (Canary Islands, Catalonia, Galicia, respectively), while Benotac and Rossellimac have seen more national expansion.
Benotac a couple of years ago was also bought by an international group, today sole administrator Bhagwan Vishamber Tilokani.
K-Tuin ceased to be a family business in 2018, when a Lebanese tech group, Midis, paid owners 20 million to take over the company.
The GoldenMac purchase is said to have been around 10-12 million euros and will remain the brand for education.
At the moment, the purchase price of the three Microgestió stores is unknown.
