Before proceeding with the procedure to prevent the smartphone from turning off, we must take some precautions.
Set the 6-digit unlock code
It is advisable to set the 6-digit unlock code. The 4-digit code is more used, but much less secure than the 6-digit one. To set it up, just follow the steps below.
- We open the Settings;
- We select the item Touch ID and codice;
- We insert the current code;
- We select the option Change codice;
- We insert the current code;
- Finally we insert the new code to 6 cipher.
Turn on Find My iPhone
La anti-theft function of Apple, that is Find my iPhone, it is very useful to check the position of our smartphone in case of loss. It also allows you to reset and ring the iPhone remotely.
- We open the Settings;
- We select the item iCloud;
- We select Find my iPhone;
- Finally we activate the options Find my iPhone e Send last position, by moving the toggle to On.
Prevent shutdown
At this point we get to the heart of the procedure. To prevent your smartphone from turning off, just follow these simple steps.
- We enter the Settings;
- We select the item Generali;
- Let's select the section Accessibilità;
- In the new screen we select the item Guided Access;
- We activate the relative option, setting the toggle su On;
- Let's enter the section Code settings;
- Finally we activate the option touch ID.
Once this is done, we need to go back to the screen Home and perform other operations.
- We open any application;
- We quickly reward 3 times the Home button;
- In the new menu we select the option Guided Access;
- We select the item options, placed in the lower left corner;
- We disable all options except Standby / Wake up button;
- Finally we select end and then starts.
From now on, we will be able to activate the function Guided Access quickly pressing the Home button 3 times. In this way, the device can no longer be turned off. However, we will not be able to respond to messages and calls. To exit this mode, simply use the Touch ID or the unlock code.
Conclusions
It is very useful to activate the Guided On mode when there is a high probability of losing the device, such as going out with friends. Thanks to this feature, any attacker will not be able to turn off the device so as not to be tracked. If it is lost or stolen, we can use Find My iPhone to track down the device.
