At this time, the Pokémon Go Safari Zone event that was scheduled to occur in St. Louis from March 27-29 has been postponed until further notice. Developer Niantic said he did it to help prevent the wider spread of the coronavirus. Due to this sudden cancellation, those who purchased a ticket to attend this event have the option of receiving a refund.
Those looking for a refund should visit the built-in support page for instructions. Everything happens through the Pokémon Go app.
- Open Pokémon Go and go to the main menu, indicated by the Pokéball in the center.
- Tap the settings option at the top right of the screen, indicated by the cog.
- Navigate to the bottom of the settings page to access the “Get Help” option.
- For those on an Android device, click on the chat icon and for those on an iOS device, click on Contact Us at the top right of the screen.
The refund for the tickets goes to the person who bought it and only works for them. If you were someone who received a ticket from someone to come with them, you have to wait for the original buyer to submit the order. They will receive a refund for all the tickets they have purchased. There is no partial refund option for members.
To take advantage of this refund, you must submit an order by March 25, 23:59 PM PST. If you try to submit a claim afterwards, you will not receive a refund. At this time, there is no further information on how this might affect other future Safari areas. Niantic is waiting to receive future information to observe the constantly changing environment before issuing statements on various events.
