Every day in the world, more than you think, a multitude of electronic devices are lost in which we keep various personal data sometimes indispensable for private and working life. A good part of these devices, given their importance in the global market, are branded Apple, in particular they are iPhones. For many of these users, losing it can be an unpleasant situation, both for the economic relevance but also for the individual factor, as we said a little while ago. Therefore, it would be good and just conduct return iPhone to the owner.
And here the following practical guide comes to the rescue, explaining various methods to be able to trace the owner of the device, from the simplest to the most complex solution.
How to track down the owner of an iPhone
If the iPhone is unlocked
Nothing simpler. To find out the number you will need to go to the Phone app, press on the Contacts section and the first of them will be the phone number of the device in question. Logically, it will be enough just to contact a number of a family member in the phone book and agree to return it.
If you ever want to get in touch with the owner directly, you will have to go to Settings, enter iCloud to find out through theApple ID some personal details, name, any private numbers and e-mail addresses.
If the iPhone is stuck on the lockscreen
In this case you could simply ask the voice assistant by stating "Siri, what's my number?", instantly receiving information such as name, surname, numbers and e-mails. Hoping, however, that Siri is enabled when the phone is on the lock screen.
Keep the iPhone charging and accessing
This is more advice than a solution. While you are looking for information about the owner, it may be that the owner himself contacts you via his device.
Get to the general information via iTunes
Just connect it to your PC, open iTunes and it will interface with the iPhone. Going to the program settings you will discover the data on the owner user.
Contact the authorities
If you really can't get in touch with the owner of the phone, you will need to contact the police, who will be able to trace the holder and return the device to him.
NB: Finally, we remind you that not returning a lost device and keeping it is equivalent to “stealing” it, which is why it constitutes a crime.
