For some years now, Apple has decided to make available to some manufacturers all the information necessary to develop MFi game controller (Made For iPhone). The certification we have just talked about is absolutely necessary to pair the aforementioned devices with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV. Unfortunately, however, the "request" made by the Cupertino company does not seem to have been very successful and for this reason, with iOS 13 (or iPadOS), compatibility has been extended to controller wireless di PS4 (DualShock 4) e Xbox One S.
This announcement immediately made many users cheer, given the popularity of the two controllers. In this guide we will therefore go to see how to perform the coupling correctly.
Connect PS4 and Xbox One S controllers to devices running iOS 13
Just as mentioned in the introduction, the PS4 and Xbox One S controllers will be compatible with the iPhone and iPad only if updated to iOS 13 (or iPadOS), currently in beta. For this reason, we invite you to perform the procedure below only if you have the aforementioned operating system.
PS4 DualShock 4
- Turn on the controller
- On iPhone or iPad, go to Bluetooth settings and turn it on
- On the controller, hold down the buttons (simultaneously) for a few moments "Compartir", top left, e "", in the center, until the top LED starts pulsing.
- On iPhone or iPad, click on the controller name which will appear in the list of unknown Bluetooth devices
- When the LED on the controller stops flashing, the connection is complete
Xbox One S Wireless Controller
- Turn on the controller
- On iPhone or iPad, go to Bluetooth settings and turn it on
- On the controller, hold down the button for a few moments "Connect" of the top surface until the Xbox logo starts flashing quickly
- On iPhone or iPad, click on the controller name which will appear in the list of unknown Bluetooth devices
- When the LED on the controller stops flashing, the connection is complete
