Cliff is one of the three leaders of the GO Rocket team in Pokémon GO. If you're going to take on the Rockets, you'll likely face this leader at some point. You can find it by collecting mysterious Team GO Grunts components from captured PokéStops. When you have six, you can build a rocket radar to locate a leader's hideout.
How to beat Cliff in Pokémon GO
Cliff has a new lineup of Pokémon to use this time around. You won't have time to take it apart, and you'll want to focus on using durable Pokémon to meet its exceptional collection.
First Pokémon
The new first Cliff Pokémon used against you is Cerfrousse a Normal-type Pokémon. There's nothing too special about fighting this one, so you'll want to stick with using one type of combat to take them down quickly. You'll want to avoid using the Ghost types when fighting him.
Second Pokémon
The next choice is a mixture of three options. Cliff could cast Elekable an Electric-type Pokémon, Ossator a Ground-type, or Onyx a Rock-type at you. These three choices vary, which makes your choice of alignment a bit difficult.
Your best option would probably be to choose a sturdy Grass-type Pokémon in this encounter. While Elekable is not weak on weed, one type of weed could reliably resist their attacks and cause severe damage to Bones and Onyx as they are both weak to that type.
Any Electric or Water-type Pokémon would be too much of a risk because if Cliff has Elekable you could get stuck pretty quickly. A Grass-type remains a safe bet with a series of reliable attacks capable of damaging any of these options.
Third Pokémon
The final choice could put your list to the test and strain your skills. Cliff could have Laggron a water and soil type, Torterra Grass and soil type, or Tyranitar a Rock and Dark type Pokémon. You have a handful of options.
The best option would be another Grass guy against this trio. A Grass-type could damage Tyranitar and Laggron if Cliff uses them severely. It wouldn't do any significant damage against Torterra, but it would be a great choice to fight with during this engagement.
You'll want to avoid Electric, Fire, or Rock-type Pokémon during this final fight. You will find that these Pokémon can take them out quickly, and you will quickly find yourself without a reliable team to withstand Cliff's attacks.
You'll want a solid lineup of Pokémon to take on Cliff. While you can focus on damage outside of its roster, you'll find it much more helpful to come into battle, ready to have an endurance commitment. You want to resist the attacks, while doing a reasonable amount of damage to Cliff's roster. Make sure you are prepared for the long haul.
