What level of difficulty should you choose in Hitman 3?
There are three difficulty levels in Hitman 3, and each of them is listed below.
- casual
- Unlimited backups.
- All mission story guides available.
- No surveillance cameras.
- Fewer performers.
- Forgiving fight.
- More items are legal to transport.
- NPCs pay less attention to sounds.
- Professional
- Unlimited backups.
- All mission story guides available.
- Active surveillance cameras.
- Cameras alert guards if illegal activity is spotted.
- The fight is difficult but fair.
- Maître
- One save per mission.
- No mission story guide available.
- Additional surveillance cameras.
- Additional executors.
- Merciless and demanding fight.
- Bloody eliminations ruin disguises.
- NPCs pay more attention to sounds.
The main differences between each difficulty level are the number of saves you are allowed to use and how familiar the NPCs are with your actions. Playing on Master only gets you one save per mission, so it's only intended for the hardcore audience. The guards are also much more aware of your actions and there are also more surveillance cameras. Playing Casual is a much more relaxed experience, as you can carry more items without attracting suspicion, and there aren't as many law enforcement agencies who can see through your disguises.
How to change difficulty in Hitman 3
You can change the difficulty in the Schedule tab when setting up a mission. The difficulty level you choose doesn't affect your score or rating, so just choose the one you're most comfortable with. The only thing that really affects is the leaderboards, as you will only be compared to players who select the same difficulty level as you. If you are just trying to increase your mastery level, complete challenges, or unlock trophies / achievements, you can choose any difficulty you like.
Hitman 3 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
