Google Photos, new features for shared albums

What happens when a tech giant announces something major? Simple: there's always (or almost always) a competitor that responds and comes up with a counterattack. And this is the case: "in response" to Facebook Moments landing in Europe (and Canada), Google responds witha small series of improvements to Google Photos, its direct competitor.

In particular, the additions are aimed at making the BigG app more social and somehow smarter, pursuing (obviously) the same goal that Facebook is pursuing with its Moments. In fact, Google Photos now supportsand "smart" suggestions to add photosthatcomments.

Google Photos, new features for shared albums

How do smart suggestions work? Simple: to simplify the addition of photos, even those taken for a long time, to shared albums, the appwill suggest to the user - based on factors such as time and place where the image was taken (strictly excluding facial recognition) - theright albumto add it. Goodbye infinite scrolling to find the right photos: just follow the smart tips to quickly add them to shared albums!

The second addition, the social one, speaks for itself: from today it is possible toadd comments to both shared albums and individual photos.Once again, nothing to do for the "like". Both features are available from today on Android, iOS and the web.

Will Google Photos be able to keep up with an increasingly fierce Facebook Moments?
