Genshin Impact: Lost Riches Event Guide

Genshin Impact: Lost Riches Event Guide

The Lost Riches event at Genshin Impact runs until January 18 and has a Seelie animal as a reward.

The Lost Riches event started on January 8, and each time you log in for the first time between that date and January 18, you will automatically receive the side quest "The Path of the Treasure Seeker Part I." You'll need to head to the stone gate between Mondstadt and Liyue to start this quest, and the Bishui Plain waypoint is the nearest teleport.

Speak to Ulman, Seelie's former friend to further the quest and the event. Ulman will make you a deal: you can have his Seelie looking for treasure, and he will take any iron pieces you find out of your hands. He will then give you a book indicating the places where treasure could be found. These places are all exclusive to this event.

The Lost Riches event is pretty much the “Hot or Cold” game. You will equip the Seelie in search of treasures from your inventory in the Gadget submenu (much like treasure compasses) and use it in one of the areas marked in Ulman's book of treasures. If you use the Seelie outside of one of these areas, or too far from the treasure, it will not appear. If the Seelie appears, you'll want to look at her and see how shiny she is.

The brighter the glow, the "hotter" you are; THAT IS TO SAY. you are close to the treasure when the Seelie shines like a lantern. A ray of gold should appear from the earth when you are on top of the treasure. Interact with him for your loot and rewards. Not all treasure slots are accessible from day 1 (otherwise we would all complete the Lost Riches event in one sitting and then go back to Gacha's regular grind in Genshin Impact), so come back every day via the Event page to see what new areas appear.

A few final notes: The Special Treasure areas contain the truly unique loot and Primogems, so if you're planning on farming any for the upcoming banners of Ganyu, Xiao, or Hu Tao, you'll want to keep track of the event. You cannot access a new location until you delete the one before it, so the longer you sleep on the Lost Riches event, the longer your Genshin Impact session will be after you log in. Remember: the event ends on January 18th.

Finally, you can return to Ulman to redeem your Iron Coins or use the event store on the Event page. You can only buy A from the three available Seelie animals - pink, yellow or the usual blue - so choose wisely. All other items in the store have a purchase limit set. The items for sale are:

  • 100 Primogems (up to 3)
    • 80 pieces of iron
  • 1 Hero's Wit (up to 10)
    • 8 pieces of iron
