Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial now includes all Heavensward content.
With the Update 5.3 free trial, players will see their once piddly level 35 cap extended to level 60 to include Heavensward and its post-launch updates. This means that not only are ARR raids finally accessible to free players, but everyone found in Heavensward as well. Additionally, all three Jobs introduced in the first expansion - Machinist, Dark Knight, and Astrologer - can be unlocked and upgraded after Free Players clear their prerequisites (essentially hitting level 50 and Ishgard). The Au Ra race is also available, meaning nothing from Heavensward has been left out.
the other restrictions still apply however. Free players still cannot form their own groups (the task finder and invitations from other players are still acceptable), the market board will remain locked, and sending private "tells" is strictly prohibited. Almost everything that can be exploited by RMT traders is isolated from free players, but with the new main story revamp ARR, it shouldn't be hard for players to keep pace (although the Duty Seeker will prove their best. friend when it's time to regroup).
The free trial can be accessed on PC either from the main site or Steam, and PlayStation 4 fans can find it in the PS Store. Keep in mind that you cannot access the free trial if you have already purchased and registered a game key to your account, but I have good news for those of you who may have. be already done. Trial players aren't the only ones who get Heavensward for free - all owners of A Realm Reborn and Starter Edition will have Heavensward added to their account at no cost. Please be patient - the key may not register immediately after Patch 5.3 is released, but you will get it eventually. You'll need an active subscription to play if you're not a trial player, but Heavensward Free is a great reason to come back.
