Fortnite is releasing a new set of mechanics for its Chapter 2 update. Players will have the chance to fish while in the game, upgrade their weapons, and view a new map. For those who like to play with your friends, you will have the chance to restart your allies and bring them back to life. Here is how you do it.
How to restart in Fortnite Chapter 2
You can restart an ally only when they have completely crashed and died. You'll know your ally is down when they're gone from the map, and you'll see a power icon on your minimap at the top right of your screen. This icon tells you where they were shot and where they left a restart card for you to grab. You have to go to this place to pick it up. However, you only have 90 seconds to do so. After that, you won't be able to send them back to the game anymore, and the person who fell will be forced to watch. They will have to wait for their ally to win, or die somewhere on the map.
To rekindle your ally, you need to locate one of the restart vans found in the game. You will notice these blue and white vans using the large power icon pictured on the side.

Approach the van and process the restart card. This process takes a bit of time, so make sure there is no one around. If you're pressed for time to revive your teammate, go right there, crouch down and hope you won't be spotted. You may be able to get your allies to cover you if you have someone else in your party.
Once you're done dealing with the restart card, the downed player appears atop the van with their pickaxe and pistol. They won't start with much, but it's better than nothing, and you can keep looking for other items. You might even be kind enough to lend them a rifle or rifle that you don't use.
Make sure to pick up the restart card when your allies collapse. You don't have to leave them behind anymore in Fortnite Chapter 2 update.
