You'll earn five Redeemed Souls when you first join your Alliance in the Shadowlands, but you'll need to complete one per week to learn more.
After choosing your alliance, you will launch the first chapter of their campaign. Once you have reached and completed the “News of Hope” quest in Chapter 1, you will receive five Redeemed Souls. If you've already chosen a Covenant and changed it after grabbing your starting Souls, you'll still earn them for your new Covenant, but you may need to return to Oribos to grab them if you haven't received them in the time of launch. (this was a problem that needed to be fixed).
Then you will need to complete a weekly quest to earn more Redeemed Souls in Shadowlands. This means those of you looking to grind your faces to immediately wipe out all of your Sanctuary upgrades will need to cool your jets. While it doesn't hurt to start managing Anima, Redeemed Souls will serve as a wall of progression. You'll want to prioritize the updates that matter most to you, as it will take a while before you can build more than one per week.
You'll need to save Souls from the Maw every week to complete the quest, and at the start you'll only gain five Souls Redeemed from the Quest. As you increase your fame, you will eventually unlock Soulkeeper upgrades that will allow you to "save" more souls from the Maw each week, thus increasing the number of Redeemed Souls you can collect. If you want to complete each Shrine upgrade as quickly as possible, you'll need to track your fame. Soulkeeper upgrades in Shadowlands are unlocked at Fame Ranks 15, 24, and 32. Once I know the exact amount of Souls redeemed upgrading adds to the weekly reward, I will update this article.
