Torghast in Shadowlands is unlocked after reaching level 60 and completing the first chapter of your Covenant's campaign.
The upgrade campaign in Shadowlands will give you a taste of Torghast towards the end, but to fully unlock the Tower of the Damned you will need to complete the main campaign and reach level 60. Even after clearing these obstacles, you will have a handful of quests to knock out before unlocking Torghast proper.
If you check your quest log after choosing your Covenant, you'll notice a new Covenant campaign at the top. The first chapter is devoted to your Sanctum, Anima and Soulbinds. This is basically the Shadowlands 'Endgame 101' quest chain, and you'll need to complete it to reach Chapter Two, which focuses entirely on Torghast. This means cultivating 1000 Anima to complete your first Fame Quest, which is mandatory to advance the Campaign.
It is not difficult to do. Just focus on taking out world quests with Anima rewards, looting chests marked on the map, and killing rare monsters. You can easily clear 1000 Anima within hours of playing, but keep in mind that this is an introduction to the weekly Fame Quest, so don't be afraid to embark on this quest on your own. pace. Unless you're looking to collect all of Torghast's available Soul Ashes before the weekly reset, there's no rush.
Once you clear the first chapter of your Covenant's Campaign, you will be tasked with returning to the Maw. Once you land in the Hell version of Azeroth, you'll meet Ve'nari, who will quickly teach you how the Maw works with a few quests before heading to the Torghast portal in his refuge. These quests should take you no longer than 30 minutes.
Once Ve'nari tells you to enter Torghast, you will need to complete the campaign quest which will lead you to the Rune Carver. Once you gain access to his room, you lock down all of Torghast (with one exception). Note that the campaign will eventually require you to farm 1250 Soul Ash, so it's not a bad idea to clear all available layers once you've unlocked Torghast. The first two layers are pretty easy to solo, but if you're struggling, don't be afraid to check out the Group Finder to join a party or create one.
Torghast has six different rooms in Shadowlands, but only two are accessible each week. Each has 8 layers to erase, and each layer has 6 floors. Floor 3 will always be a rest area and floor 6 the boss's room. Cleaning up the boss will reward you with Soul Ash, and you will only be able to loot the Ash once a week per layer. Some layers even have a chance to drop a legendary power for legendary crafting on the runecarver, so erasing a layer at least once isn't a bad idea.
There is a seventh chamber - The Twisting Corridors - which randomly assembles 3 layers of the six chambers, and is Torghast's challenge mode. You cannot earn Soul Ash in Twisting Corridors (outside of the quest that unlocks it), but you can earn mounts and cosmetics. You can grind the Twisting Corridors for rewards without worrying about a daily or weekly limit, but once you've cleared the 8th layer you'll have earned it all (although the mount obtained from layer 8 is worth the work: this is the only mount you can use in the mouth).
Twisting Corridors are not available at the time of this article's publication, but I will update it once they are. They're stranded behind a famous NPC's rescue, so whenever Bolvar has a new quest for you, grab it.
As of publication, some layers are locked and will not be accessible until later. For reference, these unlock dates and times are:
