One of the first features of the Xbox One was its ability to go through live TV from your cable or satellite provider. This was first shown during the Xbox poorly received unveiling event in 2013. Since that event and Phil Spencer took over Microsoft's Xbox division, many features featured here have been canceled or discontinued altogether, including the Kinect feature that worked with OneGuide. With the Xbox team continually moving their next console to focus on games and not other media, will the app and functionality return?

The short answer is no. As stated, Phil Spencer is dedicated to selling the Xbox Series X as a gaming console first and foremost. Since the console unveiling, we now know that the X Series will not have an HDMI-In port that the Xbox One has that allows it to run live TV through the box. We know this by seeing the back of the console and the ports it will have.
Not all bad news, however. Xbox Series X will continue to support media streaming services including Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, and Amazon Prime Video. Simply log into your account with a subscription to the respective service and you will be able to take full advantage of what it has to offer.
In addition to removing the HDMI-In port, Microsoft is also removing the optical audio jack, so if you have an audio system connected to your Xbox One, it will need to be plugged directly into your TV.
While some Xbox One owners may be disappointed to learn that OneGuide and Live TV won't be returning in the next generation of consoles, the handwriting may have remained on the wall for a while. The service hasn't received many updates over the past few years, and there isn't a voice community that seems to back it up as many people have ditched their cable services in favor of streaming services.
