Wiko View 4 it ranks as a low-mid-range smartphone. For some time now, the French company has been focusing on autonomy and excellent value for money, but will it still be enough? Let's find out in the review.
Design, variants and packaging
In the package we find, in addition of course to the protagonist, also a power supply with USB-A / Micro USB cable, a pair of earphones (of not excellent quality) with 3.5mm jack output, pins to extract the sim trolley and manuals. Too bad for the absence of a cover, it would have been very welcome, also because the display protrudes a lot from the side edges, exposing it to some risk.
Wiko View 4 comes in three captivating colors: Cosmic Gold, the golden version in our possession, Cosmic Blue and Green. The gold version is very elegant and hides gods iridescent reflections that slightly simulate the rainbow effect. Frontally the display has symmetrical edges, except for the lower edge which is more important.
In the upper part we find the front camera, located inside the central drop notch; above it we have the ear capsule, while on its right a mini notification LED.
In the lateral edges, in plastic, we find: the input for the 3.5mm jack in the upper profile, volume rocker and power button on the right, trolley for the SIM and button to call up the dear Google Assistant left, speaker (mono) and micro USB port at the bottom. The back, also in polycarbonate, incorporates a traffic light module with triple camera. And the unlock sensor with fingerprint? Alas, absent.
The build quality of the device is one of its weaknesses. By applying light pressure on the edges or the back, creaking sounds can be clearly heard. A real shame as solidity was one of the most interesting features of the previous model.
Cameras
As I mentioned above, Wiko View 4 is equipped with one triple smart camera with 13MP main sensor, a 2MP sensor for the bokeh effect and a 5 MP 114 ° ultra-wide angle, suitable for panoramas and group photos. Compared to the 3 series models (except the lite model) I don't notice a big leap forward. With available light the shots are quite detailed and contrasted, sin instead the loss that we encounter from sunset onwards.
I would like to point out that the excessive distortion at the edge of the field of view, which creates a sort of fairly noticeable fisheye effect. The defect is highlighted above all in the presence of architectural elements, which appear evidently curved and rounded.
The front camera selfie does its job without surprising, it tends to capture a little too much light. In the two selfies that you will find in the gallery below, you can in fact notice the difference between the one taken with the front camera, and the one taken with the rear.
The videos appear with some occasional shots, especially if shot from a social platform (Facebook or Instagram); the audio captured in the capsule is slightly low.
NB: some photos lose quality because they are compressed during the upload phase.
Autonomy and performance
Autonomy is the real strong point of this device. 5000 mAh there are so many and the smartphone takes a very long time to consume them, as its components are not particularly energy-intensive: the processor is quite contained and the brightness of the screen, even at maximum, is always low. With a slight use of the device, you can almost reach three days of use, if you are a video game and social media fanatic, you will reach i the two giorni.
In short, a champion of autonomy which, however, recharges slowly. Yes, because the micro USB port does not provide very high speeds which allowed us to go from 0 to 100% higher 6 hours. The advice is therefore to keep it in charge during the night and never wait for it to discharge completely.
As for performance, fans of the stock Android version will love the cleanliness of the version on this device. Linear and fluid, do not expect amazing feats because we are still talking about a low end. Unfortunately, I point out the absence of the Widevine L1, which allows the viewing of streaming content in HD.

Wiko View 4 review: buy it or not?
A 159.90 € we can't expect amazing performances, however the competition in that range is really high. From its Wiko View 4 it has autonomy, an overall attractive design and an almost stock version of the operating system that will surely impress purists. In addition there is the button to call up Google Assistant, useful if you want to call it back without disturbing any smart speakers scattered around the house.
Is all this enough? It obviously depends on your needs. Of course we would have expected some more news compared to Wiko View 3.
