Huawei Petal Search it is a search tool and, basically, it works like any other similar tool: you type what you need and it shows you a series of results. So why should it change your life? The answer is simple: Petal Search also searches for applications. A nice convenience for all those who own Huawei HMS devices such as P40, P40 Lite, P40 Pro and P40 Pro +.
What is Petal Search and how does it work
Petal Search is a search widget created by Huawei in collaboration with two other famous search engines: the French Qwant and the Russian Yandex.
You will find it pre-installed on smartphones of the P40 family but in reality you can use it on any other Huawei device: that's enough download it from AppGallery.
Using it is really easy. In fact, you have a traditional search bar where you can write what you need. Petal Search will scan the web for you to find news, images, videos and even apps.
This widget indeed integrates both AppGallery and alternative stores such as ApkPure and ApkMirror, giving you the ability to download any type of app in seconds, regardless of source. Furthermore, when an official apk is available, i.e. an installation file provided directly by the developer, Petal Search will be able to direct you to the download page.
There are two further factors that make Petal Search an excellent search tool. On the one hand it is meant for guarantee users maximum safety, complete with a certificate of conformity of the European Authority ePrivacy. This means that your data will remain private and protected. On the other hand we find a very useful function. Tapping on the Personal tab, located at the bottom right, and then on Applications, you can check for updates for all installed apps. A nice convenience since the alternative is to check the different stores manually.
Installing apps on Huawei: our Petal Search test
We abandon the theory to move on to practice. In fact, the purpose of Petal Search is to speed up the installation process so we decided to organize a little challenge to find out if it is actually easier to use this search widget than the combination AppGallery + ApkPure.
As you may have noticed the process is faster and, above all, simpler. The steps to be taken are reduced to a minimum and really allow anyone to install all kinds of apps without having any kind of prior knowledge.
A nice convenience that brings to 3 the tools made available by Huawei to install all types of software on HSM (Huawei Mobile Services) smartphones. In fact, next to Petal Search we find Phone Clone, that copies the apps from your old smartphone, and the aforementioned Huawei's official store.
