The Pokémon Go Battle League is in full swing, but for a limited time you have the chance to participate in a special event called the Flying Cup. The Flying Cup will not function like the Premier Cup. Instead, it's only available September 24 from 18:00 p.m. to 23:59 p.m. in your local time zone, so you don't have to skip work to participate. This is a good opportunity to improve your ranking in the Great League while it is available.
Here's what you need to know about the Flying Cup and how to get the most out of the event.
- You can only use Flying-type Pokémon to fight other Trainers in the Battle League, and they can't be stronger than 1500 CP.
- You can witness 20 sets of Battle League battles, which boil down to fighting 100 different trainers. All of these will only be available during the period.
- You receive twice as much Stardust in every battle, at the end of a fight, and every time you rank after winning a trade.
- When you evolve a Pidgeotto during the event, your Pidgeot will experience rapid, gusty movement.
The great attraction of the event is to evolve a Pidgey into a Pidgeotto, and possibly into a Pidgeot before the end of the event. the Pidgeot will experience the gust, an exclusive movement at its disposal. While Pidgeot isn't a powerful Pokémon, this move could make it a stronger contender for the Ultra League and make it more useful in raiding, especially since it has a Mega-Evolved, Mega Pidgeot, form. which you can locate in mega raids.
Unlike a community day, you will not be able to evolve Pidgeotto two hours after the event in Pidgeot and have it learn in a burst. It must be within the prescribed time limit. Be sure to participate on September 24 from 18:00 p.m. to 23:59 p.m. in your time zone to participate in the Flying Cup and unlock a Pidgeot that knows the gusts.
