Guild Wars 2 is finally coming to Steam in November, after an eight-year hiatus from the platform.
There is no official release date for the game yet, but we'll update this article once it's announced.
The game will come with all "Living World" content, including the Icebrood saga. You will also be able to purchase its two expansions, The Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire, at their regular prices.
However, there is a caveat to all of this as existing accounts cannot be converted to Steam. If you've created an account and characters through the game's launcher, you'll need to stick with that in order to play. But even without this ability, ArenaNet has confirmed that the world will be split between players on the launcher and players on Steam.
ArenaNet is bringing the game to Steam ahead of the launch of its next expansion, End of Dragons. The expansion sees players travel to a mysterious island called Cantha, which has been isolated and silent for over 200 years. It's the mystery you'll examine, but the teaser hints at poor civic planning in the past that's caused problems in the present.
End of Dragons is slated for release in 2021.
If you are looking for something you can do today in Guild Wars, starting today owners of the Path of Fire expansion will have the chance to unlock a new ability for their Skimmer mounts that will allow them to dive underwater - creating the game's first submersible mounts.
