I voice messages have revolutionized the way we communicate via chat apps, so much so that today they are at the center of a new "audio only" business in which apps like Clubhouse (and soon Twitter too) have entered. WhatsApp introduced voice messages in the distant past 2013, even before being bought for 19 billion dollars by the Facebook group.
Then, however, Facebook seems to have forgotten a little about this function which, today, is not so different from the original one. In the meantime, however, hundreds of millions of users WhatsApp all over the world have started to use voice messages, because they are very convenient to communicate when we cannot write on the smartphone keyboard. The problem, however, is that someone takes advantage of it and occasionally sends us the classic 10-minute voice message that never ends and, paradoxically, is a very uncomfortable way to communicate. Soon, however, WhatsApp will introduce a novelty to solve this problem: the possibility of change the playback speed voice messages.
Fast Voice Messages: How They Will Work
The arrival of "fast" voice messages, which can be played at a higher speed than normal, is not yet a function on which WhatsApp is officially working: it is an indiscretion of the well-known site WABetaInfo, the most informed about updates in the pipeline at home WhatsApp.
In addition to the reliability of the source, then, there is the fact that WhatsApp almost never announces in advance the news it is about to introduce, but then actually introduces them as it has happened in recent days with the video calls from WhatsApp Desktop.
We don't know much about the option to change message playback speed, so other than the fact that the feature is under development for both Android and iOS apps. It is likely that you can use it by pressing an appropriate one icon added to the voice playback controls.
WhatsApp is running late
The news that WhatsApp is about to introduce the ability to play vocals at higher speed has made loyal users smile. Telegram, the most quoted among the alternative platforms to WhatsApp. On Telegram, in fact, this function has already been around for quite a while.
It was in fact announced, and introduced (Telegram, between saying and doing, takes a month at most) at the end June 2018. On Telegram you can only choose between normal playback speed for voice messages and 2X speed, we still don't know if WhatsApp will offer more refined controls.
