The inclusion of Genshin Impact in Sony's August state of the game presentation means it's time to get ready for its launch. The title developed by miHoYo is coming to PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and so far we only knew it would arrive sometime in 2020.
The August review, however, gave us a more concrete launch date for Genshin Impact. It's not officially dated yet, as tweaks and bug fixes are ongoing after its beta testing. If you want to know more about our thoughts on Genshin Impact, you can read our article on impressions here.
We're digressing, however, as we know you're here for the Genshin Impact release date reveal. Well, it will be launching worldwide this fall. We said there is no official date yet for Genshin Impact, but it will be with us between September and November. Zhenzhong, studio technical director at miHoYo, confirmed this in a PlayStation blog post following the State of Play event.
The Covid-19 pandemic, as you might have guessed, has affected many developers. Most - if not all - studios are working remotely on their upcoming titles, and miHoYo is no different. Development of the game is difficult at the best of times, and the launch dates will have been affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As such, it would not be in miHoYo's best interest to set a date when they would have to pass down the line. We imagine that September will come too soon for an official release, but a launch in October or November - development in progress - will be worth the wait for this action RPG.
