Guardians Destiny 2 have drowned in Legendary Shards since the game's release. Bungie's latest update added several different ways for Guardians to spend them. Instead of filling up your inventory and getting all dusty, you can now purchase Vanguard or Crucible Boons from Commander Zavala and Lord Shaxx respectively.
What are the advantages?
There are two types of Boons: Vanguard and Crucible. These are consumable items that you use during strikes or crucible matches. Commander Zavala sells the Boon of the Vanguard for 10 Legendary Shards, and Lord Shaxx sells the Boon of the Crucible for 25 Legendary Shards. Each player can only use one consumable per activity, but other players can also use theirs during the same match. You can receive a maximum of four gifts per activity.
How to use Boons
When used, a Giver effect becomes active in your inventory. You will know if other members of your activity are using perks because you will receive a gift receiver effect.
Boons Gifts
After an activity with the Receiver of Gifts effect, you will receive a Gift of Vanguard Tokens or a Gift of Crucible Tokens. These are consumable items that turn into token packs, which you can exchange for reputation or purchase items from Commander Zavala or Lord Shaxx.
Brilliant legendary perks
Tess Everis of Eververse is selling a legendary version of these perks for Bright Dust. You can purchase the Vanguard's Sparkling Boost for 150, and the Crucible's Sparkling Boon is worth 500. These items work the same as other versions, but they reward players with an Eververse Shader Pack.
Now you know everything there is to know about Boons in Destiny 2. Be sure to be a nice keeper and share these gifts with others.
