VOD (video on demand) is a service for broadcasting digital videos via television, the Internet or 3G telephony.
It allows users to order films, documentaries or even television programs on demand, at the desired time. Amateurs appreciate the flexibility of video on demand, offering great freedom and increasingly phenomenal choice; the exact opposite of traditional television channels imposing their program schedules and timetables. With VOD, you make your own television.
This important advance for cultural consumption has developed thanks to the boom in very high-speed access in homes: VOD indeed requires significant network resources.
