In Link's Awakening, a character called Richard asks you to go to Kanalet Castle and find five gold leaves for him. Getting to Kanalet Castle is relatively straightforward, but don't rush too fast. You must have certain items sorted before you go.
How to enter Kanalet castle
To enter Kanalet Castle, you have to go through a series of trades to get a banana. You can see where you need to go on the map above in the yellow box. But when you get there, you will find that there is no way to cross. Instead, there's a hungry monkey called Kiki who wants some food. By going through a series of trades, you can get food, give it to Kiki, and ask him and his friends to help make you understood.
Yoshi Doll
Yoshi doll can be found in Mabe Village at the Trendy Game Shop. You have to play the game to get it, and it costs you 10 rupees.
Ribbon
The ribbon is in the village of Mabe. If you give the Yoshi doll to Papahl's wife (the house north of the village), she will give you the ribbon.
Dog food
If you bring the ribbon to Ms. MeowMeow's house, CiaoCiao will exchange you for dog food.

Bring the dog food for sale, a crocodile that lives near the beach, and he gives you bananas.
Now you can go to the location shown above, with Bananas for Kiki. Make sure you bring a shovel with you. You can buy one in the store in Mabe village for 200 rupees.
Once the monkeys have built the bridge, grab the sticks they drop off and head north until you reach a phone. On the left, you will see a single bush. Cut it to discover the stairs, then go down to enter the castle.
