Everspace 2 will likely arrive on Xbox One / Xbox Series X | S shortly after the PC's full launch in 2022.
During the Kickstarter for Everspace 2, ROCKFISH Games confirmed that their long-awaited sequel will hit consoles approximately six months after launch. While they didn't explicitly name the consoles, it's safe to assume they were referring to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (and maybe the Switch; I never really know what is and what is is not worn on the small laptop these days). The only stipulation I would add is for Xbox Series X and Series S.
There is a chance that ROCKFISH GAMES will ignore the now “next generation” consoles altogether and release Everspace 2 on the “current generation” of consoles. Since the proposed full version of the game has had to be pushed back to 2022 (due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic), it may be easier for the team to devote their time and resources to a port built around of what will soon be the main consoles. I won't rule out the Xbox One version of Everspace 2 entirely, as ROCKFISH Games can just as easily focus on developing its port around older consoles with "improved" features for those who play it via backward compatibility over the Xbox Series X | S, but I'm also not claiming that there's no way they'll skip the Xbox One altogether in favor of the X and S series.
Once ROCKFISH Games makes an official announcement on the console port of Everspace 2, we'll update this article. Given that they just launched the game into Steam's Early Access program and GOG in development, it might be a while before we hear about any of the console ports.
