Breeding transmits the traits of the parent Temtems, allowing you to create totally unique creatures that you will never find in the wild - whether their enhanced SVs (unique values) or their unique moves, even the Egg contains a legacy of its parents. It's a bit confusing, but I'll try to explain and make it as easy as possible.

How to raise temtems
Reproduction takes place at any time Breeding center. The breeding center is located at Canopath on Route 5, on Omninesia. The Breeding Center can hold up to two pairs of Temtems for breeding.
To breed Temtems, you must pair up two Temtems of the same type. If your Temtem has multiple types, like Nature and Melee, then that Temtem can spawn with any Nature or Melee type Temtem.
Once a pair of Temtems has been deposited at the Breeding Center, it will be necessary 25 minutes in real time so that they produce an egg. If they are the same Temtem species (in the same evolutionary set), it will only take 15 minutes. You will need to go to the Breeding Center and collect your eggs before you can produce more eggs - the center will only contain one egg per pair.
After you remove the egg, it will eventually hatch while you play. It takes between 5 and 45 minutes for the egg to hatch.
- Breeding Temtem - Quick guide:
- Drop off pairs of Temtems at the Breeding Center on Route 5.
- Temtems of the same type may recur. The same evolutionary species / lineages can reproduce faster.
- It takes 25 minutes to produce an egg. 15 minutes if the Temtems are in the same line of evolution.
- It takes between 5 and 45 minutes for a Temtem egg to hatch.
Reproductive limits - fertility
Everything else so far is pretty similar to Pokémon, but here's where that changes. Each Temtem has a fertility value - by default all captured Temtems start at Fertility 8. Each time they spawn, the fertility value decreases by 1. Both Temtems always lose 1 fertility value when spawning.
Basically, this means that you are limited by the number of times your offspring can reproduce. Also, the best Temtems you can find in the wild may have a lower starting fertility value - depending on how many “good” SVs (unique values) the Temtem has. The better your Wild Temtem, the less you will be able to breed them.
Reproductive Inheritance - What Your TemTems Transmit
There are 5 values that are transmitted when you raise your Temtems; Fertility value, unique values (IV), techniques (movements), traits and luma (bright).
- Fertility value: The Temtem egg will always get the lowest fertility value from the parents after breeding is complete.
- Single value: SVs are Temtem IVs - secret stats that are randomly generated when you capture or spawn a Temtem. Egg Temtem has the potential to acquire either the higher VS of both parents, an average of both, or the lower VS.
- Higher SV inheritance from parents: 40% chance
- Average SV inheritance from parents: 40% chance
- Lower Parent SV Inheritance: 20% chance
- Techniques: Techniques are Temtem's moves - they're attacks, buffs, heals, and more abilities you'll use in battle. Each species has unique techniques that it can learn from breeding that are unique - you will not find Temtems with these techniques in the wild.
And finally, we have traits. Traits are generally not inherited by Temtems, but there are specific elements that can ensure that Temtems will be born with a specific trait. Otherwise, the traits are assigned at random.
The last inherited value is Luma - or brilliant. Luma Temtems have a unique color, and they are guaranteed to have 3 Perfect Svs, or 3 Perfect Statistics. If you spawn with a Luma Temtem, your chances of getting another Luma Temtem from an egg are increased exponentially.
- Normal breeding has a On 1 6000 chance to produce a Luma Temtem.
- If one of the breeding parents is a Luma Temtem, the chances of producing another Luma Temtem are increased to On 1 600.
- If both parents are Luma Temtem, your odds increase even more for On 1 60.
Basically, if you want to improve your chances of earning Luma Temtems, you'll want to create Luma Temtems. It makes sense to me.
