Temtem - How to play co-op

Open the menu with Escape and highlight the icon of two people standing next to each other to access cooperative options.

Under this menu, you will see two highlighted prompts - Interact and Friends. Selecting Interact will show a list of all nearby Temtem trainers, and Friends will show a list of all trainers you've added as friends (Temtem doesn't use your Steam friends list, so you should add people manually, which I'll describe below).

If you don't want to play with someone nearby or if no friends are registered, you can select TamerSearch at the top of any of the menus. From there you need to enter the name of the person you plan to play with (numbers in their name are not required). Once you locate that person, a portrait and name will appear in the menu, and clicking on it will bring up the interface in the photo above this article. As you can see there are a few options here. The cooperative is clearly identified at the bottom right, next to the icon to add (or remove) this person as a friend.

Word of the wise, though: you need to be near someone to invite them to a co-op session, usually in the same area of the map. Also, the game feels a bit tricky in distinguishing when a player is busy or not, so the easiest way to make the co-op work is to go to the same Temporium and send the invite from there. If you're the person receiving the co-op invite, keep an eye out for a notification in the upper left corner of the screen. You can open and accept the invitation with the Ctrl key. Once accepted, you will be in a group of two with your boyfriend.

Some starting tips: You'll line up all three of your Temtem, so the top three on your list are the ones you're going to bring into battle. You can also swap your Temtem with your partner's in battle, but you can't control it (and vice versa). Now get out there and kick Temtem's ass with your friend!
