How to evolve Rockruff into Lycanroc
Rockroff is a fairly new Pokémon overall, as it was only introduced in Pokemon Sun and Moon. What made Rockruff unique were his different forms of evolution to be able to become three different versions of Lycanroc. These three forms are Midcan, Midnight, and Dusk form Lycanroc, with one of them changing just a bit in how it evolves in relation to the Sun and the Moon.
You will start going through Rockruff as soon as you enter the Isle of Armor and head to the first large open area as you will have to run after the Fast Slowpoke. After grabbing a Rockruff, it's time to evolve it into whatever shape you prefer.
Unlike the Sun and the Moon, the Rockruff you catch should be around level 60, so you won't have to worry about an Accuracy hitting, as it will evolve every time it level up. If you raise one and have a lower level Pokemon, you need to raise your Rockruff to level 25 to trigger an morph.
This is just the basic method of evolving Rockruff, but there is another piece of the puzzle in deciding which of the three shapes you get. To get Lycanroc Midday Form, evolve Rockruff during the day. Likewise, to get Lycanroc Midnight Form, evolve Rockruff overnight.
The most complicated evolution though is Lycanroc Dusk Form, which not only has a time requirement, but something else. If you want a Lycanroc Twilight Form, you need to start by catching a Rockruff with the Own Tempo ability. Once you have a Rockruff with this ability, you need to evolve it between 19:00 PM-19:59 PM in real time. This differs from the times it was possible in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, so be sure to go with this time for Sword and Shield. For this, make sure your Nintendo Switch has the right time, as it will depend on what time your Nintendo Switch is. If you evolve the Rockruff at its own tempo during this time, you should get your own Lycanroc Dusk form.
