If you have played Pokemon GO, you may have noticed that you can fight against other players in PVP. This is all part of the Pokemon GO Trainer Battles and to participate you must first choose which league you want to join. There are three in total, the Great League, the Ultra League and the Master League. The first two of these have a CP limit of 1 and 500 respectively, while the Masters League has none.
With me so far? Good.
Now it should be pretty obvious to say that leagues are designed to be played by specific coaches, for example if you are new to the game enter the Great League like trying Ultra or Master you are gonna be. very killed. You'll also find that each league has a tiered ranking system, which means you'll be able to fight Pokemon weaker to help you reach an acceptable level before you tackle the more difficult ones.
If you don't know which Pokemon you should be fighting and what you should avoid until you are strong enough to take on them, then this is where this how-to guide comes in.
The level structure is as follows, Rank 5 is the lowest and therefore has the easiest Pokemon to fight, and Rank 1 is the most difficult and should only be attempted if you have strong enough Pokemon in your arsenal.
