How to play cooperatively
Co-op is definitely a favorite not just for Pikmin 3 Deluxe but for the game as a whole, especially these days. Sure, it's fine to sit down and play a game on your own, but having a friend with a friend really adds something in this time of social distancing. Unfortunately, while Pikmin 3 Deluxe adds a lot to the co-op experience of the original Wii U, it doesn't add the one feature many might have expected, and the feature that would avoid the issues of trying to stay safe. during the pandemic.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe does not support online co-op or multiplayer, which remains a local matter only. However, if you have someone nearby who wants to join the game, playing co-op is straightforward and easy. Jumping into story mode or one of the side missions will give you the option to jump into one or two player mode. The story, side stories, and all mission modes (“Collect Treasure!”, “Fight Enemies!” And “Defeat Bosses!”) Are all open to co-op play, with a vertically split screen with a player on each side. When you first start out, just choose Two Player Co-op Load and you're good to go.
How to play in multiplayer
Multiplayer, i.e. play versus style, is also supported as part of Bingo Battle mode in the main menu. This is also limited to just two players, so don't expect a big Pikmin party. There is also no direct competition mode where you are Pikmin and instead focus on who can complete tasks fastest. Bingo Battle, each player is presented with a 4 × 4 grid of objects to collect on stage. The winner is the first to complete a column or row of articles.
So that's how to play in co-op and multiplayer in Pikmin 3 Deluxe. Many more options are open this time around, although some that were expected have been left out. Hope more will be added later via DLC, so check back for updates.
