How to play online multiplayer
To get started, you first need to progress a bit through the story. Don't worry, it doesn't even take that long to consider it a problem, so just keep playing until you unlock your very first official quest. We don't want to spoil anything here, so I'm going to avoid mentioning any names or certain instances that occur to reach this point.
Either way, after unlocking this first mission, you need to descend from the main base until you find a crossroads. If you take the right path, there is the mission that awaits you as usual. However, if you get to the room to your left, which is the main waiting room, for example, you might find right at the entrance a certain radio pillar. If you interact with it, you will be able to see the multiplayer menu.
From there, you can choose to join random players online and complete missions with them, or join and invite your friends for a private session. Either way, the game will send your character into a multiplayer environment, ready to take down insane enemies. Also, you can invite your friends anytime through the pause menu, without needing to go to that pylon. Just go to the game menu and on the right side of your screen you should be able to see the “Play with Friends” tab. Click on it and invite whoever you want.
Also, please note that when you play multiplayer the game will increase the difficulty, but of course the rewards are much better too. This means that even if you have your friends with you, you should still play with caution.
Outriders is set to officially release on April 1, for all available platforms except Nintendo Switch, with the demo version available now.
