This week Apple introduced iOS 15, which is now available in beta for developers ahead of launch later this year. A smaller but useful new feature added is the ability to drag and drop images, text, files, and more into apps on the iPhone.
MacStories Editor-in-Chief Federico Viticci demonstrated the new feature in a tweet:

Drag and drop between apps has been available on iPads since 2017, and Apple has finally extended the functionality to the iPhone running iOS 15.
From the iOS 15 features page on the Apple website:
Drag and drop
With support for drag and drop between applications, you can grab images, documents and files from one application and drag them to another.
To drag and drop in iOS 15, you need to press and hold an image, text or file and, without lifting that finger, use a second finger to slide your finger out of the application and open another application.
Then, drop the image, text, or file to drop it into the other application. A long press on the content makes it appear to stand up and stick to your finger, and as the content is dragged, animations and visual cues identify potential destinations where the content can be dropped.
