Windows is synonymous with a complete and easy to use operating system: from windows to customization, through practical menus and - today - Cortana, the platform offered by the big Redmond is designed for those who want things that are anything but complex but immediately usable.
Not everyone knows, however, that too Windows started out as an operating system that today we would define ugly and inconvenient to use, but that for the beginning of the era of personal computing was already a great thing: how many of you have tried Windows 1.0? And how many would like to do it?
Well, if you are curious, know that there is a website, complete with an emulator online (so you don't have to install anything on your computer), which allows you to try Windows 1.0.1 from your browser: to do this you simply have to go on the link at the bottom of the page ed wait for the emulator to load.
From there you can use all the programs pre-installed in Windows 1.0.1 (including the legendary Reversi), taking advantage of an IBM XT 5160 PC, with a 4.77 MHz processor (yes, Megahertz) flanked by 256 Kb of RAM and 10 MB of disk space, all rigorously emulated. By the way, you can upload personal files as well or possibly modify the specifications of the machine a little.
