How to create a Facebook page (preliminary operation)
To activate the business profile for your Instagram account, you must necessarily have a Facebook page to connect to the Instagram account; you must also be the administrator of that page.
If you already have a Facebook page you are already halfway there and you can go directly to the next step. If, on the other hand, you don't have a Facebook page, I'll explain how to create it in the following lines.
To create a Facebook page from your computer, you must first connect to the official website of the social network and have already logged in. Now pay attention to the presence of the down arrow symbol at the bar located at the top.
The button in question is located after your first and last name, next to the question mark symbol (?). Click on it and then on the button Create a page which will appear from the drop-down menu.
In the following screen you will need to indicate the type of page you want to create by clicking on one of the buttons for the page categories. In particular, you have the following categories available:
- Local business or place: allows you to create a page dedicated to local businesses or companies that have a physical headquarters.
- Company, organization or institution: through this category you can create a page that refers to a company or an organization.
- Brand or product: if you have a product or even a website, I suggest you click on this category to associate a Facebook page with your website or your brand.
- Artist, band or public figure: allows you to create a Fan page dedicated to a public figure from the show.
- Entertainment: allows you to create a Facebook page that refers to an entertainment product.
- Cause or community: it is the right category to create a Facebook page that refers to a cause or a community.
Whatever the main category of your web page, you will then have to indicate the subcategory you belong to via the drop-down menu Choose a category. Then type the name of the page and press the button Start.
At this point you will only have to follow the guided configuration of the Facebook page which will ask you to enter some basic information for the same, such as cover image and description.
You will now also have to fill in all the other data necessary to complete your Facebook page (if you need more instructions on how to proceed I suggest you consult my guide dedicated to the topic).
Finally, make sure the Facebook page is public, in order to be able to connect with the Instagram account. If it is not yet online, you can possibly publish it by clicking on the entry Settings from the main menu of the same (located in the top bar).
At the section Generali e Page Visibility verify that there is the voice Page published. Otherwise, tap the button Modification and put the check mark on Page published.
To create a Facebook page you can also act from your smartphone or tablet, using the application Facebook Business Suite (available for free on both operating systems for mobile devices, Android and iOS), or directly through the Facebook app itself (also present and free on Android and iOS)
How to connect the Instagram profile to the Facebook page
At this point, to connect your Instagram profile to the Facebook page you just created, and thus have access to the statistics, you will need the application of the photographic social network. Download it from the PlayStore or the iOS App Store if you have not yet installed it on your device and then log in with your Instagram account.
At this point, tap on the icon with the little man symbol at the bottom right to access your profile screen. Now tap on gear symbol which you can see next to the item Edit profile.
From the options screen, locate and tap on the item Switch to a company profile. Then continue in the introductory screen by pressing the button Continue four times in a row. Now, the first step requires you to connect the Facebook page you just created by tapping on the item Choose Page.
Locate the page you created and tap on it to put the check mark on it. Continue by pressing the button NEXT and then set some data related to your company profile such as email, telephone number and address.
Some data may have been automatically imported from the Facebook page and you can possibly change them at any time. Keep in mind that these are data that are in any case optional, just indicate one of them to choose from. Continue by pressing the button end.
Congratulations, if you have correctly followed all the instructions I indicated you will now have completed the procedure for creating your Instagram business account. You will have confirmation of this by the appearance of the graph-shaped symbol next to your username in the top bar of the application.
How to see who saves your photos on Instagram
Once your Instagram business profile is activated, you can continue posting photos and videos as usual. The difference between the private account and the business account of Instagram lies, mainly, in the possibility of sponsor for a fee their own visual content.
Other noteworthy features include the ability to enter commercial contact information, such as the email address, the ability to create company-sponsored content that indicates the commercial nature of the image.
Obviously, as per the topic of this tutorial, one of the most appreciated features of the Instagram business account is the presence of Insights. Accessible through the graph-shaped symbol from your Instagram page, insights are nothing more than statistical data relating to the progress of your profile.
Then tap on graph symbol that I mentioned to you; I want to explain to you in a summary way what the items related to the statistics screen refer to and how to use the statistics to see who saves your photos on Instagram.
The voice follower In the period shows the growth of your followers over the past 7 days; the voice Coverage in the period shows the progress of the posts you have published in the last 7 days.
To the item Actionsinstead, a number will be shown that refers to the overall actions that people have performed on your account and you will also find the Profile Visits item which shows the views your account has had in the last 7 days.
With a swipe down you can then see the section suggested and the wording Coverage e Impression related to your profile. There Coverage indicates the number of accounts you have reached while the Impression indicating how many times the multimedia contents you created have been viewed.
Below, under the heading follower you can analyze some data that refer to your Instagram profile such as age range, gender and geographical places of belonging. You can see more details of this section by tapping on the item Other.
At the section Media and promotions find the words instead Post e Stories through which you can then see the overall views of your most popular posts and the latest stories created.
If, on the other hand, you only want to see the statistics of the published images and find out how many people have saved the photo using the appropriate Instagram button, tap on a photo you have published and, in correspondence with the button Promote, tap on the voice View Insight data.
You will find several other statistical data to analyze in this screen: the heart symbol indicates the number of likes that the image in question has received and therefore serves to measure the interaction with it as well as for the speech bubble symbol which indicates the number of comments the photo has had.
Another very interesting fact is what represents the real interest of the public; in particular, pay attention to the sign symbolor. In fact, this symbol represents the number of times the post will have been saved in the Instagram collections. So refer to this figure if you want to know how many people save the content you post on Instagram.
Many interesting are the rumors Actions, Profile Views (visible with a swipe downwards) that allow you to measure, for each published photo, the interest of the public.
In particular the voice Actions measures the total number of actions the post generated while the entry Profile views indicates the number of people who, “captured” by the content you published, have viewed your profile.
Then there are the words follower, Coverage e Impression which respectively represent the number of followers obtained following the publication of that content, the number of unique accounts that have seen the image and the total number of times the post has been viewed.
If you still don't see the statistics for the individual posts, wait a few days for the post to get more coverage. Insight data is only viewable for images and videos posted after switching to a corporate account and is not retroactive.
