How to ride a strider in Minecraft's Nether update

You can ride a strider in Minecraft in the Nether update version 1.16. These creatures look like floating bags of jelly with tiny hairs on the side of their heads. They are impervious to lava, and straddling them makes it easy to travel through the heavily lava infested waters of the Nether. The first thing you will need to do is create a saddle so that you can ride one, but you also need a warped mushroom to help attract and direct the strider while riding it.

Finding a saddle will be the trickiest part. You can find it in a chest in the Dungeon, Stronghold Remnant, Desert Temple, End City, Jungle Temple, Nether Fortress, Fortress, or a Village. A dungeon chest has the highest chance of you finding a saddle at 28%. With a saddle in your inventory, head into the Nether using a Nether portal, and you can start creating a warped mushroom on a staff. It works the same way you use a carrot on a stick for a pork.

The Warped Mushroom grows in the Nether Warp Mushroom biome. The blocks in this biome are weirdly blue, and you should have a lot of little blue and orange mushrooms on the ground. Collect one and tie it to a fishing rod to create a warped mushroom on a stick. In the same Warped Mushroom biome, you should be able to find striders nearby. They roam and spawn regularly in these places. Take out your saddle and tie it to the back of your chosen spider, and you can now ride it like the other mounted animals.

Your spider will move as it wishes until you use the warped mushroom on a stick in front of it to direct it. The item has a set lifespan that allows the strider to propel itself forward and walk at increased speed, so be sure to keep an eye out for what's left as you guide your new mount.
